I am portraying a hemstitch and by reinterpreting such a traditional embroidery technique, I push forward the inherited beauty, from which we all depart, to this instant. I recall those weaves of my childhood waving in memory with this watercolour of irregular geometry. The beauty of the randomness and inaccuracy, the inherent element of luck and surprise … in both threads and brush-strokes alike.

Este diseño interpreta una vainica, un tipo de técnica de bordado tradicional, como elogio a la belleza heredada de la que todos partimos, en este instante. Recuerdo las tramas de mi niñez ondeando en la memoria como esta acuarela de geometría irregular que se abstrae. La belleza en la aleatoriedad e inexactitud, el elemento inherente de suerte y sorpresa … tanto en los hilos como en las pinceladas.

Laura Muñoz Estellés is a visual artist and designer living in Valencia, Spain, where she was born in 1988. Her work, being the result of a multidisciplinary learning process with studies in fashion, fine arts and textiles, is mainly focused on the illustration and design of patterns applied to different products and surfaces, although her work also includes other disciplines such as painting or photography among others. After working for several brands in the fashion and textile industry she decided to work as a freelance designer and launch its own brand “Ninola”.
Inspired by the arts & crafts spirit and discovering the magic of watercolours, she aims to reveal new ways of expression for our surrounding beauty.

Laura Muñoz Estellés es artista visual y diseñadora, que vive en Valencia, España, donde nació en 1988. Su trabajo, siendo el resultado de un aprendizaje multidisciplinar a través de sus estudios en diseño de moda, bellas artes y diseño textil, se centra en la ilustración y el diseño de estampados, aplicado a distintos productos y superficies, además su trabajo también incluye otras disciplinas como la pintura o la fotografía. Tras trabajar para varias marcas en la industria de la moda y el textil decidió trabajar por cuenta propia y lanzar su propia marca "Ninola". Inspirada en el espíritu de los artesanos y descubriendo la magia de las acuarelas, ella pretende revelar nuevas vías de expresión para la belleza que nos rodea
